All patients may have a chaperone present for any consultations, examination or procedure where they feel one is required.  If you would like a formal chaperone to be present, where possible, please request this when booking the appointment.

We have two practice nurses and a healthcare assistant. Our nursing team are available by appointment for a wide range of services - more information can be found on our 'nursing appointments' page here.

We now have a pharmacist at the practice who performs the majority of our patients' medication reviews. Appointments can be booked in advance if you know you are due for a medication review in the near future. All patients need to have up to date medication reviews in order to check that their management plans are as efficient as possible, and also to ensure that there is no delay in the issuing of prescriptions when requests are put in.

(updated 20/7/22)

Phlebotomy is not a part of the core GP contract, and Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board commission the phlebotomy service for Wellspring Surgery patients.

From 1st April 2022 the ICB have been unable to secure a provider for a phlebotomy service at St Anns Valley Centre. The ICB have come to a short-term agreement with Nottingham University Hospitals that Wellspring patients can attend the Queen's Medical Centre or Nottingham City Hospital for blood tests. The phlebotomy outpatient department at both QMC and City Hospital is open at the times below; the department ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closure

  • Monday to Thursday 7.00am - 5.00pm
  • Friday 7.00am - 1.30pm

We continue to work with the ICB and request that the ICB commission a local phlebotomy service for our patients, with this being delivered at the St Anns Valley Centre.

If you have any issues/concerns about the commissioning of the phlebotomy service, please contact the ICB patient advice and complaints using the details below:

You may also wish to contact your local councillor/MP (contact details below) to highlight the need for a local phlebotomy service in St Anns:

Thank you for your support.

This service is run by Nottingham City Care providing a daily clinic from a single central location at the NCGPA GP+ Clinic on Angel Row (near the Market Square) in the city centre. The treatment room nurses will help you with dressings, wound examination, burns, lacerations and removal of stitches. Patients can book an appointment via our reception team - call 0115 9505907.
